HOW DANGEROUS IS EATING BETWEEN MEALS?

EATING BETWEEN MEALS

What is the effect if I eat between meals?

Eating between meals is unhealthy:
It is a fact that eating between meals is not in the best interest of health. But do we understand why? What is the result in eating between meals on the body?

When food is eaten the stomach does its part of digesting this food and preparing it to move on to the small intestine. This process takes approximately three to five hours, depending upon the food that was eaten. When food is put in the stomach before it is emptied of the food from the previous meal, the whole digestion process must stop. The food that is partially digested must just wait in the stomach until the new food is digested to the same degree.

The partially digested food will putrefy quickly in the warm, moist environment of the stomach. This waiting process causes the time before the stomach is empty and ready for the next meal to be much longer than normal.

Digestion study done
In a study of a Nurse was given breakfast  at 7:30am. Four pieces of fudge were given during the day, one at 9:00am, one at 11:00am, one at 2:00pm, and one 4:00pm. Dinner was eaten at twelve and supper at six. X-rays shows that nine hours after breakfast, the breakfast food was still in the stomach. Thirteen and one-half hours after breakfast the x-ray showed the breakfast food was still in the stomach. The day before this study the breakfast food was digested in four hours.

Burden on the entire system
A burden is placed on the entire system due to the fact that after this food has putrefied in the stomach it is passed on through the system and absorbed into the blood stream. Now that we understand what happens when we eat between meals, may we each , by the grace of God never eat between again and place this unnecessary burden on the stomach and the whole system.
